Collaborator
Born Ready University Leading with Literacy
Dr. Blair was instrumental in collaborating with the Alabama Department of Early Childhood in developing Born Ready University, an infant development research-based program that offers parenting courses for parents and other caregivers for children ages 0-3. This innovative program is available to any Local Education Agency in the State of Alabama, free of charge. The Department of Early Childhood provides both funding and instructors for the program.
During the program, parents/families learn about child brain development and how to prepare for language and literacy. Parents also learn how to read and engage with their children. What started in the Bullock County School System also launched in the Selma City Schools with plans by the state to expand to more districts.

"Vision, leadership, partnership, and results – these are the qualities that make an exceptional superintendent. In my experience and judgment, Dr. Blair has ably demonstrated these qualities and many more. He knows policy, and he knows logistics. He knows the teachers and the students. Dr. Blair knows what it takes and has shown he is willing to do what it takes to move Bullock County schools forward. From increasing investment in public education to upgrading our school building infrastructure and school buses to returning the focus to college and career readiness, Dr. Blair is the right person for the job."
Rep. Anthony Daniels
Alabama House of Representatives
There are promising practices being implemented that include branding and marketing efforts to increase community support for students and schools and a strong partnership with the Economic Development Authority. I am a believer in data-driven decisions and the data are clear regarding the opportunities that Dr. Blair has provided for students and adults under his watch.
